We usually invite newcomers to shoot with us for approximately 6 weeks on Saturdays before asking them to decide whether to join us and charge a fee of £3.00 per session.

Club fees are £30/adult, £20/jnr, per annum, payable April, and affiliation fees of approximately £56 payable in September. Archery UK is our governing body and the fees cover membership, insurance, etc. We also charge members a target fee of £1.00 per session which goes towards the cost of the paper target faces used and equipment repair and replacement.

Beginners are advised to use club equipment until they are certain that they intend to take up the sport. The only things we suggest you purchase are arm guards and finger tabs as these are very personal items and not too expensive. These items are available to buy on line from any archery supplier.

We are very conscious of safety. We will teach you how to shoot, pull your arrows from the target, how to look after yourself, your fellow archers and your equipment. We do insist that juniors are accompanied by an adult at all sessions and prefer the adult to learn to shoot as well. This means that discussion can take place away from the field and each will know what the other is talking about. Archery is a sport that the whole family can enjoy.

We hold several internal and external postal competitions throughout the year and there is the opportunity to go to official shoots and meet other clubs. So far we have been made welcome wherever we have gone and made friends with people all over the country.

We look forward to your company and will do our best to teach you to shoot safely, to a good standard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
